Hi,

I'm going to change the platform: from nForce s775 to Intel P67.
The main problem is I'm almost sure the new BIOS&chipset won't recognize my old RAID array and I'd have to re-create new one, having lost all my data.

So it's why I've got 2 questions: anybody tried to move such RAID array from nForce (nVidia Mediashield) to ICH (Intel Matrix) ?

Second question - does any software exist that is able to rebuild/edit/transfer RAID metadata in specific way for each controller in safe way (safe way is to change metadata with no other data loss, and with Undo option) ?

I have no other single drive that is sufficient to store my data on. I've got bootable linux distros which probably would read my array on another controller, but I still need second drive to store those data. Problem is I've got no second drive :-/

HDDs are cheap, you can get 1Tb for £40 and 2Tb for a shade over £50. Getting an additional disk and backing up to that is by far the easiest solution to this.
