Hi all,
I'm having an odd problem with my RAID 1 system (2x200Gb disks) on a GA-X38-DQ6 mobo.
I'm using the onboard Intel ICH9R raid controller (not the sata2 controller).
I'm running Vista Ultimate 64.
My problem is that whenever my system hangs (been beta testing some software lately) and I have to hard-reset my system, my disks go automatically into "verify" mode and make my system completely unusable while it does so. Sometimes this lasts for over an hour.
I was wondering if this is normal behaviour? I recently replaced my motherboard with the current one and don't remember having had this problem this frequently with my older asus mobo (same OS and components though).
If it is not normal, what could be the problem here? It's really annoying to at times having to go through this procedure a couple of times a day.
I installed the RAID for security reasons, to not loose data that easily when something goes wrong. I'm inclined to take the RAID off and just use my two disks in a non RAID fashion and do more regular backups. For sure at this point that would be more time efficient.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
