Never really dealt with RAID 1 just 5 and 6 in work, if at home I have two discs in a RAID1 set, and Disc1 corupts or goes bad and the data can not be accessed, do it pass this corruption onto Disc2?

Kimbie

If the corruption is generated upstream of the RAID controller by the OS for example then yes, both disks will be affected. If it's one of the drives which causes the corruption then the second should be OK.

I would presume if its corruption to the O/S then the second drive would be corrupted also?

If it was the drive itself that was corrupted (Bad sector or something for example) then I don't see why the second drive would be effected.

If by corruption you mean one of HDD fails in someway, no it won't be on the 2nd.

Any problem not caused directly by failer of one the HDDs will more than likely affect both.
