Hi,
Scenario:
2 new 1.5tb drives and 1 WD 640gb drive from old raid1 setup (other wd is faulty) that was being used for data

I plugged both 1.5tb drives in and created the RAID1 array.
Booted into Windows fine. Shutdown and attached the WD drive (Intel ports on MB)(AHCI mode due to SSD being on these ports)
Windows wont recognise the WD drive now and says it needs to be formatted.

Im thinking this is due to the WD drive being setup as a raid array and windows not liking it now being on the AHCI mode.
I cant set these ports to RAID to copy the data to the new 1.5tb drives as they handle my ssd and windows wont boot if i do so.

What are my options? RAID is never straight forward with me :(

EDIT: MB is a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3. SSD is on the 2 intel ports in AHCI mode. The Gigabyte ports (marvell) were/are handling the RAID array

The pc wouldnt boot with the SSD in RAID mode. (Raid(XHD)) in the BIOS.

I deleted the VD in the Marvell Raid setup thinking that this would force the drive back to "normal" mode and enable me to see it in windows and now I think I've just lost all my data :(

Windows is asking me to initialize the drive... If I do that will my data be gone? :(

Someone please help!

You need to use a RAID driver which is usually distributed with the mobo software disc, (put it on USB or something) to "See" your SSD from the windows setup, you may be able to repair the windows version once you have selected the driver, but when i was trying to do it last week i gave up and re-installed...

Which drive is it asking you to initialise? the 640WD? i wouldnt like to say, im not sure why it would have un-initiated itself... but i would be very cautious before re-initialising it, wait for someone else who may know for sure
