If my C-drive, (OS), is actually 2 or more discs in a raid-o array, then what is
the hd serial-nr for drive c ??? I have some software from IK that gennerates
protection-Codes directly from this drive-nr, and have to consider the way I
ghost and back up in case I raid this drive

The volume serial number is created by the OS when the partition is formatted, it's determined by the date at the time of formatting, not the underlying hardware. I don't know for sure but it's a fair be that Ghost or Acronis will retain it when they image the partition.

BTW, no need to insert carriage returns in the post, VB can wrap the text automatically for you.

ok, I see, I wass under the impression that there was a hardware-based
serial-number specific to each HD, (to be seen from bios maybe), they told
me at IK-Multimedia that the challenge-code I got for a certain HD could be used again, even after format and re-install, as long as it was the same HD

I am very sorry I don´t understand this, I am not english, but danish, I will
ask some friends to try explain, thanks again for helping with my question :)

He just means don't worry about pressing the return key on your keyboard in order to create nice looking paragraphs. The software here will sort the no. letters per line accordingly.
