do i put the mobo disk in my old pc and save the drivers off the cd onto the floppy?

this is the bit im a bit lost with just wondering how i get the drivers will it be an option when i put the mobo disk in the old pc?

cheers

When you put your motherboard disc into your computer, you'll be sure to get some sort of happy user interface with a pretty interface and shortcuts to what you want.

What you need to do is go into My Computer, right click and 'Explore' the disc and then go into the folders depending on what it is you need.

Alternatively if you name the make of your motherboard and type of drivers you want - I could give you a link online to download them. (no searching required)

well i havent ordered all my components yet but it looks like it wil be the gigabyte ds3p (it think thats what the model is)

will be a new build and wanted to try and get the raid set up before installing windows, as i understand that it formats the drives when it sets up the array so it seems pointless to have to install windows twice

thanks

It depends on the type of array. RAID1 can be created without any wiping of stuff, although it's quicker if you get the array sorted before you install everything. Should just be a simple job of copying the correct drivers onto the floppy, setting up the RAID, then going to install Windows and hitting F6 (to install additional drivers) when prompted. Assuming this is XP of course. Vista is a different kettle of fish and can open drivers from CDs etc. during the installation.
