Hi All,
I've set up a new machine with 4 x 2TB disc in RAID5 on a windows 7 64-bit Build which is made up of:
Gigabyte Q57M-S2H
Core i3 540
2 x 2GB DDR3 1066MHz
OS installed on 500GB Caviar Blue 500GB not in the array.
The array has been set up in the BIOS (Intel Controller) and seems to be happy.
When i try and create and format a partition ( after RAID 5 5.4TB) it just will not format - it's been going for 24 hours now and still no cigar; how long should it take?
I've ruled out dodgy discs, power supply wattage.
I'm going to try putting Server 2008 R2 on the machine to see if that makes a difference.
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated.
Mr. Gary.
