Not sure if this is a common question so can someone either point me to a good guide or tell me how to setup raid?

I have just bought from ocuk another 320 f1 so want to set it up in RAID 0 for my os and games etc. Now i have no idea what to do next. I obviously have to format the drive but how do i go about setting the drives up together? Will be installing a fresh copy of vista 64bit.

Thanks

Its relatively simple, you'll need to refer to your motherboard bios in order to find out how to configure your controller. (It should instruct you on how to set up the raid step by step)

But its just a case of plugging in, doing the above, sticking vista 64bit on and (although not required but is suggested) stick in a usb stick or equivalent with up to date raid drivers for the motherboard.

just done this with my rig

dig out the motherboard handbook and see what sata ports can be used for raid in your mobo

connect your 2 identical drives, and unplug any others you have
read the mobo manual about setting up raid - usually you need to change some bios options regarding the hdd and when you reboot hit ctrl-I to enter the raid setup. enter the raid setup and choose either raid 0 for speed, or raid1 for mirroring
save and exit
restart after sticking in your vista dvd and install as usual
if installing xp you need to load the raid drivers from floppy or have them slipstreamed, but vista and windows7 don't need this
