Can you convert on the fly a RAID0 on a Sandybridge Intel raid motherboard into a RAID1 (or more accurately RAID01)?

I know I need double the number of drives to achieve this, but asking if theres an option to do this, or its a trash it and reload it job.

Hmm. Ok, looks like I need somewhere to stash 1.5TB of data then.

I was thinking of moving from a RAID5 with 3 drives to a RAID0+1 with 4 drives. I may not bother now.

Does the raid controller even support RAID01? Most only support RAID10

No. The Intel RST lets you build a 0, 1,5 or a 10. Not a 01.

10=Two Raid 1, with a Raid 0 across them.
01=Two Raid 0, with a Raid 1 across them..

There was a chance I could build a 0, then after freeing up the 5, migrate the 0 to a 01, but the software says No!

So I'm not bothering.
