Hey all

Im trying to Raid three HDDs togeather (all SATA, not sure if it matters)

The total avalable space for all 3 on there own would be 996GB

but when i raid them togeather (Raid 0) it will only give me 701.3GB

Even if i remove one of the smaller drives im trying to raid will a 1TB drive and try and raid that will the other 2 it will still only give me 701.3GB

am i doing something rong or is there somthing i have to do to get the correct ammount. im not bothered about redundancy i just want the full space of what the drives should take.

AKAIK the constituent drives have to be of the same size, otherwise you only get the capacity of the smallest on the larger drives.

E.g if you used a 500GB and a 320GB drive you would only end up with 640GB (596GiB)
