RainX

Well, I gave a light spraying all over the windscreen, wiped with paper towels all over until it was almost gone then used fresh paper towels to rub over again. No streaks or anything left on my windscreen so I hope I've applied it correctly.

nope, read the bottle.

Go fast enough and you don't even need to use your wipers at all! :D

lol thats a nice theory but I've gone through rain at over 300mph and its all pretty blurry I can tell ya!:D

My dads used RainX and it seemed to do a good job, as people have said it needs to be applied correctly!

Bahhh yet more costs just to keep the car tip top :p

Will go to Halfords in the morning then!

Hrm the bottle does say a cotton cloth or paper towels IIRC. I'll give it a bit of a test with a hose later. If I've stuffed it up I'll have to wash and scrub it and start again (probably easier said than done) :) I made the faux pas of not doing 50% of the screen at a time though...

Solari, I wait patiently for results :D I am tempted to grab myself some of this as I have an OCD for clean windowscreens! I get so much smear at the moment :(

How do I de-grease my windowscreen? I fear that a build up of muck has caused my windowscreen to go all sticky!

My window wipers linkage was replaced recently and they are like turbo wipers now :)

Rainx is excellent, but only if applied correctly.

I use it, doesnt last that long, but its good.Best way to do is to apply it 2 or 3 times before you buff it, thats the best way to get even coverage, but make sure the screen is clean 1st, use newspaper and cheapo window cleaner, just as good as AG imo.

I found a video on applying it so I think I should be ok, didn't mess up too much as far as I can see. I just used paper towels rather than a cloth, and there are no smears, it's sparkling so will let you know. :D

I just did the usual clean with glass cleaner then applied it. Probably not a good idea to stick the rainx over any bug squishes etc.

I'm looking at retrofitting aero arms and wipers tbh. Might do that in a couple of weeks as I'm off work for a bit soon :D

EDIT: If I do get problems, what's the best way of getting this off.. I understand it's a polymer of some sort so some sort of abrasive polish I'd guess?

werkstat prime is the best thing I've ever used on my windows, and the only product that stops my dads porsches bloody windows wipers from squeeking. The ag stuff is meant to be pretty decent though.

The two most raved about glass products are car-lack and einszett, still to try these

I will also like to see the retrofitted aero arms and wipers. Keep me posted mate ;)

Will do... toying with the idea of a remap+RR again perhaps in 2 weeks' time as I have a bit of dosh coming. If I do go for it, it'll make the car a bit more interesting :)

Back on track.. what's best to get this off with? I'll have to take something with me in case of problems as I'm off to Froggy land tomorrow night. Apparently Halford's Glass Cleaner will work?

Hrm my wipers didn't like it that much, got streaking (my fault for not doing it properly... ) so I got rid of it with Halford's Intensive Glass Cutting stuff. I'll give it another go when I get back from hols :)

I use PIAAs equivalent, got the wipers and the windscreen wash, works a treat, no smearing and in certain conditions when it's pouring it down I actually don't need the wipers on :)
