Just found this when reading 205gti forums.

Peugeot 205 XS 1990 G Grey New MOT
Regretfully selling my first ever Peugeot 205 XS which I've had nearly three years.
- New MOT (September 2006)
- 1990 G Reg
- 107k Miles
- 1.4 TU3S Engine 85bhp - engine replaced with a 'recon' lower mileage unit
- 1.6 GTi Rear Beam
- Full phase 2 light conversion all round
- Central locking, Electric windows, Tilt Sunroof.
- Smooth rear quarter badges
- 1.6 GTi Alloys (Been Refurbished) and Near New Pirelli P5000 Dragos
- Refurbished Bumpers in black
- New LUK clutch (when I did the engine swap). New front pads/discs. Replacement gearbox
- Graphite grey metallic paintwork in excellent condition, no exterior rust, minimal surface rust elsewhere (underbonnet). Bodywork is very straight, never been crashed, few tiny carpark dings (as with any 205), but it looks great for its age as you can see from the Pics.
- GTi style interior in excellent condition, original Clarion Radio.
- GTi rear valance
I've spent lots and lots of money on this car and replaced so many parts - folder full of receipts and a bit of old service history with it, old MOTs etc. I replaced the engine and gearbox this summer with a supposidly reconditioned engine on about 20-30k, although I have no proof for this its an excellent runner, no oil leaks, pulls hard, very quiet for a TU engine. Its very quick, doesnt feel far off a 1.6 GTi, almost feels quicker low down in the way the power is delivered! It handles great, light front end means steering is nice and light with direct feel.
Cheap insurance Group 7/8, economical too, I used to get nearly 35-40mpg on the old engine which was in a poor state.
I'd love to keep it and will be see it go, but I've got too many cars and it deserves a good home.
Given the excellent condition throughout, new MOT, large amount spent on it and harder to find a good XS these days, I'd like £500 for it. Can come with 6 months tax for an extra £50.
Located near Loughborough, LEICS.
Cheers,

Im sure this would have a lot of potential and have the handling of the GTi with the correct refinements.
