RAM for Gaming

I'm just curious as to what RAM i should get, due to the cheapness of it at the moment, since there are so many types and im not that clued up on the timing aspect and frequency of them, i want to replace my GeIL DDR3 2x2 GB i cannot remember the exact timings of them, but i feel i need an upgrade.

Any advice or feedback will be greatly appreciated Thanks

I'd say 4GB is plenty, although get 8GB if you want since it's so cheap. Any more than that is pointless for gaming imo.

If you were to start video editing, then you would benefit from 8GB, however for gaming alone, 4GB will be plenty. 8GB is so cheap right now though, you should get it whilst you can!

The Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey is good RAM if you are looking for specific models.

What is the model number of the Geil or the frequency, timings and recommended tested voltage? (CPUz will give you the part number under the SPD tab)

Also what is the rest of your setup?

Yes, not a problem - as long as the voltages, timings and frequency tally up you can mix dual channel kits.

Yes, although if not matched they will default to the slowest stick
