Ram speed higher , bench results lower ?

The beasts surprised me in all honesty. Previously I've owned a 4x2gb hyperx 2400 kit with the same timings and it was pretty poor at clocking up or tightening down, I was expecting the same from the beast series.

They actually tune better then my tridentx 2400c10 kit.

Cl82133 on quad channel is the best win :D

TG Xtreme 2600c10 at 1.65v. They don't go as tight as my cl9 dom plats though.

Our secondary timings are almost identical Frosty except i have TWR at 10, DRAM refresh at 7930 and Tfaw at 20.

And you're only running two channels and cache 9 but I won't hold you to that :p

You've listed all the important ones lol :D

This is what I'm currently running actually for 24/7, 7 hours memtest stable and working my way down. Only had the TGs a week or so. They go tighter with more than 1.65v but this is for daily use

Hey guys ,

Sorry to revive my old thread, but I had some interesting boosts of interest.

Ok since this thread i have moved over to Z97. Having a good play with the new board as you do, I noticed that ram speeds are seemingly improved.

I then went around tightening and pushing timings down and up and doing various tests along the way.
Now to contradict the info earlier in this thread it seems an increase in speed and raising the mhz did this time enhance the memory overall in its performance and stats. I did the EXACT same things on Z87 and saw a heafty decline in performance , the increase came from tightening up the slower frequency. Just thought you would find this interesting. :D

So im now running 2600mhz / 4.6ghz i5 4670K here is what i have achieved with the new board.

Read something that 8 Pack mentioned in another thread stating that Z97 was better for memory clocking than the current Z87 boards.

Yeah , seems a vast improvement. Really seems to appreciate the speed more. Obviously tightened timings slightly too :p:p

But man i am happy with that. ;)

Nicely done, not tried to push the beasts on z97....yet. Though everything except my psc kit have improved well on z97.

1.9v through my tridentx next :D

I'll be interested in seeing those results pgi ;)

Bearing in mind you have M power msi z97 think we will see some good results here. :D
