So I've decided on going to build a 3600x based gaming machine with a Tomahawk B450 Max board.

However, I'm a little puzzled by the RAM choices and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I had been looking at 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LXP, but I've noticed that 3600mhz is cheaper than 3466 or 3200mhz. Is there a reason for this, or is it purely down to the CL timings - in which case is there any real-world benefit to getting the more expensive sticks?

3600mhz (£75.68)
CAS 18-22-22-42

3466mhz (£107.99)
16-18-18-36

3200mhz (£74.39)
16-18-18-36

There's no particular reason why I'm looking at Corsair, its just what I've always used in the past, so if there's an equally reliable, better value option out there then I'm open to suggestion :)

Quite strange actually, im not sure why it is cheaper, especially when its the same brand and model.

Im sure someone more knowledgeable will explain this properly.

Ryzen 3rd Gen is not as sensitive to RAM speed as 1st Gen, Aslong as you have tight timings any above 3000mhz will do, I have used the ones @tamzzy has listed and they've done a great job in my builds

Ah excellent! Thanks mate, I had read on a random forum somewhere that I should be aiming for 3400+ for ryzen 3, so I had that stuck in my head! :D

I've seen a few videos on YouTube and they've tested ryzen 3rd gen with faster and slower RAM and was suprised by the results... Worth having a watch on there
