My boss warned me today that she will be on a 20 hour a day fast from tomorrow so she may be a bit cranky :)
I think she can only eat from 23:15 until 03:15 (somewhere near those times).

Depends where she lives but sounds about right. Will probably be nearer to 9pm though unless the sun sets super late in your area :D

Still a LONG fast regardless!!

In the West mids it’s fasting from 3.20 to 9pm.

Ramadan Mubarak!

Still amazes me that people are able to do this, I get super cranky if i go more than 3 hours without food!

Tbh the food is a non issue. I've done 7 days straight with no food before and it isn't really anything to write home about. Your body copes and adapts fine without food for short periods like circa 24 hours. The issue is liquids, especially when its hot and depending on your job is problematic.

Judgemental much?
Presumably you have a similar opinion on all non religious people too.

Making judgements is part of thinking. That's why people who strive to stop anyone thinking object so strenuously to people making judgements. More accurately, they object so strenuously to people making judgements they don't agree with and they pretend their own judgements are something different. Doubleplusgood Newspeak, Citizen!

And yes, all religious people pick parts of the teachings of their religion and ignore other parts. It's impossible to do otherwise with a large body of unclear and often contradictory teaching with numerous interpretations. It's also impossible to do otherwise if you have any sense of morality and many religious people do have a sense of morality despite being religious. So most of them ignore the calls to slavery and murder in their religions. While few areligious ideologies are as bad as religious ones in that respect, the first part usually applies. So, for example, it's common for people to pick and choose from capitalism, socialism, etc. By making judgements about what is better. Because humans can think and therefore make judgements.

Ramadan Mubarak and good luck with it.

plenty of allowances are available if people want to delay/defer it etc.. (illness for example is another exception)

also re: people living really far north (Scandinavia etc..) with 24/7 daylight - when Islam was invented they didn't realise that would be an issue so a workaround for them is to use Mecca time

invented.. nice one.. people in scandinavia etc should refer to their nearest country not Mecca which makes 0 sense.. as does most of the countries around the world to start/end fasting..

Me neither. What kind of religion expects someone to punish and possibly harm themselves physically for it. Not a very compassionate religion.

christianity & Judaism also prescribe fasting, its another thing their followers dont practice it.. only able are supposed to do it and its not about punishment, its about cleansing your soul/sins etc. you might want to try it ;)
