Ramadan Mubarak

Aye, because at the end of it you can visit the fmaily, say sorry to everyone, and magically all your sins will be forgiven.
It is fun how the politicans in certain countries are so pious at this time of year, and save accepting the bribes until next month, all in the name of forgiveness.

Good luck to all those actually doing it for the right reasons. Will be long fasts this year, probably even tougher next year given the time scale. Certainly exerts a level of self denial that I doubt I could demonstrate. Hope you receive the forgivenss you seek.

What is Ramadan Mubarak?

Ramadan is an Islamic Traditional period of Fasting. Mubarak is simply an affectation that means blessed in Arabic.

It is the equivalent as saying Merry Christmas or Happy Easter in Western Christian Tradition.

..........

And is it really necessary to derail the thread with with anti-Muslim or anti-Religion rhetoric? is it that difficult to either wish those who follow Ramadan best wishes or simply stay out of the thread?

.........

Ramadan Mubarak to our Muslim members. :)

Ramadan mubarak!

A couple of people in my team at work start tomorrow. I asked one of them how they found it and he simply stated: 'It is all in the mind. There are people in the world who do not eat or drink for days on end through no fault of their own, so it is easy really.'

Happy Ramadan to all.

Next year im going to do it in Australia, long fast is long lol.

Isn't it currently winter in Australia meaning daylight hours will be shorter during Ramadan?

Personally I don't think Religious threads should be allowed at all (Including Christmas threads) as they usually always descend into some form of religous bashing thread. Doubt it will happen though.

The start your own thread about your non-fasting beliefs.

So you can't debate? Granted most of the posts so far objecting it are childish and not worth debating but to take all debate out of a thread on a forum seems silly.

It isn't a debate, the OP did not ask a question or open a discussion topic, he simply wished those who follow such traditions good wishes. There is an appropriate time and place for a debate on whatever your position is on Islam or any religion and their respective traditions and beliefs, this is not the appropriate thread to do it.

If you want a debate or discussion on the topic then begin a thread setting out your position and the justifications for that position and you can debate to your hearts content.
