I know several people who opted to just buy a PS5 (at least, before those increased too) over getting a PC due to the RAM & storage prices.
I wonder if the steam machine will kick start a small recovery. People looking at the cost and making their own (admittedly second hand)

Is this a noticeable trend or are people just sucking up the costs ?
ISTM that upgrading monitors is where it’s at. You don’t need to run your game at ultra settings, an running at a higher resolution or refresh rate can make a considerable difference.
External GPU dock an option? No it's about 3-4 times bigger than a NUC and has an RX 6600 built into it and has 1 big cooler than covers the CPU and GPU.
I had a NUC before but the integrated GPU sucked.
RX6000 looks like it still plays a lot of games unless you are playing at higher resolutions but I only skimmed through a few of the tests:
Do you have USB C can't some of them use that instead?I did look at GPU docks but I have no OCuLink or Thunderbolt.
RAM is SODIMM
Yeah my comment was more about him saying he needs to upgrade because he wants to game I have to use Geforce Now on my potato PC unless its an old game but the 6600 isn't that old really even if its not the strongest card in the world although if its an onboard solution it might be cut down or have lower thermal limits I guess; the video I found showed a 6600 playing a number of AAA games like witcher, hogwarts and cyberpunk at ~60fps @1080p so older stuff should be fine.Even the B580 does well at high resolutions in older games. Check out my 6k thread here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/samsung-odyssey-g80hs-thread.19013851/

As for a 6k monitor thats mental
I've seen some weird sodimm to DDR5 adapters no idea how well they work though just another option.RAM is SODIMM
But better than the 6600?It does and they can but you're limited on the performance you can get through it.

More like 9060 XT's which is more expensive yeah but I always try to convince people to spend a bit more for the PC experience, to a point.Assume they were only looking at PC's with RTX 5060 level GPU's then?
