Fair enough to the above points.
As for Rammstein, what else can you class them as? When i first heard them, they really were like no other band i had ever listened to.

Name some present industrial bands then and explain what genre Rammstein is? =/
Listen to Ministry, Skinny Puppy, NON (if you want to go way back), KMFDM, Einstürzende Neubauten, Frontline Assembly, Pitch Shifter (not pitchshifter though - different style), Godflesh, Laibach, Front 242, Throbbing Gristle, Coil...
Currently, 'Industrial' music has been pushed more towards electronica; you have gabber acts (Gabba God, Vohnny Violent/Ultraviolence and so on) who take Industrial to a polemical extent, ripping out a 4/4 beat, upping the tempo, adding syncopation and layering samples and vocals...But then you have the EBM side of things; borne out of F242 and their cohorts, retaining a stricter time signature and a more 'open' sound.
Rammstein? Right now I'd place them as a generic Metal band...Sehnsucht was nudging towards an Industrial flavour but they hen kind of took a step backwards towards an open, radio-friendly, polyrhythmic sound...
