Yes. The timings on the Vengeance are the same as the dominator, so it seems needless to waste extra "just because". Do you want to overclock the RAM?
Also.. a few posts up I recommended the newer Skylake processor and it was stated that you needed more cores for 4k video editing? If you aren't in to serious editing then just get the newer Z170 CPU and the motherboard if you want to futureproof a bit.
Agreed
As it's occasional encoding... then the 6700k might be a better bet for the higher FPS in games... the improvements for single core processing that Skylake brings are definitely noticeable.
But... OP mentioned he would like to go Titan XP SLI further down the line and the extra PCI-E lanes of a 40-lane option would be beneficial there. Especially as he'll also be using 4 lanes for a PCI-E type SSD (M.2 included).
In past generations it hasn't made much of a difference... but with Pascal, we are starting to see the limits of an 8x PCI connection.
From its description:
"Cool air is pulled in through the four front 120mm fans, and warm air is pushed out by the four rear 120mm fan. "
Warm air inside, then. Glass top gets warm.
Or maybe I'm wrong and it's cool.
Either way I don't like it.
Did you hear yourself saying it?
It depends on how you cool it.
If you stick a watercooled system in there, then the glass temperature will barely change as the heat exchange is much better and it will all go out.
But with a standard air system or even AIO system then yes, the glass will become noticeably warmer than normal temp without the pc in it or running.
I had a look at that, it's a funky idea... but for me the desk is so thick it would be annoying as I like to push myself up right to the edge & also, a 120cm desk is wayyyy too small for me... I like proper corner desks.
I didn't see your post just the reply from ramthor, but that's what I was getting at 2 packs of 2 "dual channel" sticks would work just as well as 1 pack of "quad channel" branded sticks.
That should be the case but it's not always true.
I, and others, have had issues running two identical kits on the X99 platform especially as the IMCs on the CPUs (both BW-E and HW-E) are quite sensitive.
I didn't think that would be the case until I tried it and failed.
Best to purchase a quad channel kit to be certain... they are rarely much (if at all) more expensive.
