Random facebook rant

this is how it is.

i need to know everything.

facebook = add as many friends as possible

friends = newsfeed/walls

newsfeed/walls = knowledge

knowledge = power - also a good conversation starter.

hey at least i'm honest!

Why does no one get that is a friends list for friends not random people who I met once or got bullied at primary school by.

Indeed. I've recently "ignored" a request from a guy who I thought was a tool at school because he bullied me a bit, and who obviously thought I was a tool given that he was bullying me.

Why would I want to be in touch with him now? Fool.

What's wrong with MSN? If you speak to the same 30 people, why do they need to see what your saying to other friends. The site is for people who feel the need to show others they're having a good time.
Spot on.

I'm sure she dosen't need you, Sir Knight.

I'm sure she doesn't. She's more than capable of fighting her own battles, I was merely pointing out the apparent irony in your post :)

I'd advise you don't get all bent out of shape every someone posts an observation as a result of one of yours old bean, you'll die lonely that way :p

Facebook was great until they made it available for non uni students. It all went downhill from there

Its original intention was for uni students to mingle and get to know each other better, organise events etc, now its just another cheap fad full of teens from places like bebo or myspace.

I swear if they didn't open it up to non-uni students there wouldn't be any of those crappy apps everyone seems to be shoving in each other's faces.

In what way is my postcount ironic in the context of her refusing to speak to someone?

I'm sure you’re a great guy with friends and a cool car that also completely fails at observing things in front of you.

:)

Its not, I never said that. Its ironic in the way that you say she must be a lonely person, yet the fact your post count indicates you spend a little bit too much time on here suggests the same about you. (And lets not get stated on your Clan tag nick eh? ;) )

Thanks mate, much appreciated, however, I don't require my car to observe things in front of me - thats my job when I drive it :p

This is getting so far off topic and is blowing my single light hearted remark about your post count so far out of the water - how about we take it to email and not bother these nice people with our petty musings?

Not that I’m bothered tho tbh.
No because if you were bothered you'd probably go on a forum and make a stupid facebook topic and get "BUTTSLAMMED*" by an awesome guy named Marky... :p

* Was watching Family Guy earlier :p

I used to like facebook when I first got onto it - but as the OP suggests, it is the apps that add it. I used to like perusing my close friends pages to see what craic they're upto, and now I have trawl through a million applications.

And don't get me started about having to constantly delete requests! Argh! I don't want to buy you a fish, or start a poo fight, or tickle you thank you very much

I also can't stand the constant adding "friends" for the sake of it either. This week it was a friend that I apparently went to primary school with (don't remember her in old photos, neither her name), and my mate's sister who I met in passing the other week. For god's sake..

Christ, just minimise the applications..click the arrow button beside each one..that's what i do...my jaw drops when people say they are considering dropping Facebook because of a few applications.

I only use facebook every few days - I don't want my notification list constantly being bombarded with invitations, which I then have to delete.

And how long does that take..less than 10 seconds? =/

It's very repetitive to do all the time, people can actively choose not to send their invitations to me and I'd rather that they did it! My point is that without these invitations facebook used to be very easy and clean to use, it's just made it rather annoying that's all.

I signed up as it's another way of keeping in contact with e.g. uni friends, I don't want stupid extras with it..

There has been an update recently that now displays all the invites/notifications on a single page as opposed to always having to go back and 'Ignore' each application...so in that sense Facebook has improved.

I just don't understand why people complain so much...i am a huge user of it and i get a few invites every so often - i have around 450 friends but perhaps i'm more used to ignoring etc. then users like yourself who don't use Facebook everyday. :)

/shrug.

facebook is an annoying experience now, I have stopped using it now, very rarely have a look on. Seems that most of my friends from uni have also taken this approach. Sucks tbh, apps ruined it.

I have this guy who's just joined last month and he has added every application under the sun. Everyday i get at least 3 notifications/invitation from him for some app, its getting to a point where i want to delete him from my friends list. I already put him under "I want to hear less from" under preferences.
