Apparently in space cells grow into the organ they come from, so liver cells will grow back into a liver but on earth they just grow into a clump/group.

Interesting - you mean that in space eventually an able (/functional again?) liver can be "created" whereas on earth the cells don't function together as an organ?

Surely that can't be true, wouldn't they freeze in the cold dead vacuum?

He probably means just without gravity. I'm assuming the cells have food etc. etc.

I believe so, I watched an interesting documentary on the ISS and they mentioned that it was one of many experiments they were conducting :) They weren't sure whether it was due to the lack of gravity or something else.

The pacific ocean is a thin layer sitting on the Earth's crust - the moon is an enormous solid ball of rock. Now, if you'd said they have the same surface area, I might believe you.
