#Random Linux

More interestingly the 'vi' on BSD is actually 'nvi' for licensing reasons, and 'vim' isn't technically vi improved, but stevie improved, although stevie was a clone of vi so it's all fun.

I had to do some stuff with ZFS on Linux a few weeks ago and it's so much better on FreeBSD, although I still prefer OpenBSD personally. I'm perfectly happy running nvi though nowadays. Getting deep into BSD land these days, trying to daily drive it, completely comfortable in Linux but definitely some fun differences.
ZFS is one of things I want to get up to speed with as I want to use FreeBSD as a network attached storage system for virtual machines running Linux / BSD.

I'm pretty sure there are some NAS based FreeBSD derivatives but I'd like to start with FreeBSD.

I see a lot of reviewers have started members only vids like the example above. :(

Bazzite review up on distrowatch, i've not read it yet.
Briefly tried Bazzite for a potential move for for my gaming setup after W10.

Only an initial toe dip but installed, a little setup, downloaded a game, ran a game - was only X4 Foundations but it was to test the basic principle for myself.

Pleasantly surprised and ill definitely be looking into it more in the coming months.

Going to install Linux on my gaming laptop I think. Last time I had Linux for gaming it all worked pretty well and I just prefer it compared to Windows 11. I don't use Microsoft Office anymore which was probably the one thing keeping me on Windows.

Been on LibreOffice for years tbh. Got the OH onto that so when I switch her over it'll be less of a jolt.

I switched to Google Workspace instead of Microsoft 365 so nice and easy on that front. I'm honestly quite impressed with Google Workspace. Once I got it sorted it is very easy to use.
