Random, request help please!

Reboot hit delete and check the 'HDD boot Priority' again.

Save and exit and give it a test...

(i'm afraid i'll be bailing in 20 minutes or so as i have an early start but i'll hang on for a second try...)

Still reading BIOS settings...

Hopefully this will sort it as they will have been running as IDE by default...

(ANd you are sure which RAID you're using?)

So just to confirm:

•You changed the 'Configure SATA As' to RAID 1 or 0?
•You then saved
•You then went in and checked HDD boot priority again
•and then saved
•you then tested a boot up

Yes - so what did you set it as - RAID 1 or RAID 0? (Which are your drives using?)
ANd they shouldn't but you reset the CMOS so they reset to default.

I never changed the sata settings. All i have touched is IDE to the other setting(forgot what is was called) then rebooted, tried reinstalling os, nothing. Took the supporting hdd's out to leave the main os hdd in. Booted up installed windows without a hitch. Put other hdd's in and then rebooted, wouldn't but up. So i took them out and rebooted it started. Plugged the supporting hdd's in they showed up but as the picture shows are in that state. I then message on here, i tried the hdd priority and then changed it to default. Then i am up to date with you.

R3dge, i need you to confirm that you know which RAID setup that your drives were set up in?

Then you need to do the following because when you reset the BIOS it reset the SATA settings to IDE you need to cahnge it to either RAID 0 or RAID 1 (dependent on what they are using - you do know which RAID they are using?)

•In the BIOS go to the MAIN tab.

•Select the 'Configure SATA As'

•And then select RAID 0 or RAID 1 (depending on what your drives are using.)

•Make sure you're absolutely sure which RAID you are using though!

•Save and exit then...

•Reboot hit delete and check the 'HDD boot Priority' again.

•Save and exit and give it a test...

When OCuK phoned and asked what raid i would like the 'slave' drives in i let them choose, they said raid 1 was for and raid 0 was for and for the life of me i cannot remember which they used for the 'slave' drives. I know the out of 1 and 0 they used the one which would perform quicker in the 'save' mode, and as dual hdd's.

The faster option is 0 - the safest option is 1 as it mirrors the image across both disks.

You should be able to work out which one you had with that.

I'm not 100% sure on that one - surely thay gave you some paper work, email, invoice with the deatils?

WHat did the drives look like could you access both? If you could access both it was RAID 1

If it showed up as one physical drive it was RAID 0

i have an e-mail and all that shows is the items i bought not what modes or oc'ing they did. I am willing to lose the data, but can i change the raid from 1 to 0 or 0 to 1? Once they have been set, or will i need to reset the bios again?

OK, do the following to the letter:

•In the BIOS go to the MAIN tab.

•Select the 'Configure SATA As'

•And then select RAID 0

•Make sure you're absolutely sure which RAID you are using though!

•Save and exit then...

•Reboot hit delete and check the 'HDD boot Priority' again. MAking sure your OS is first.

•Save and exit and give it a test...

Post back with details - even if it fails
