Hi,

I built my system and have now properly started using it.

Randomly in Windows, the system makes a "Device Connect" and "Device Disconnect" Sound and says the usb device is plugged into a slow port and can be faster... whats going on. The scanner device also started reinstalling once redetected. I think this has happened on a Sandisk usb key now.

I can't say if i had the same issue with my previous mobo which was rma'ed. The mobo is the same so i didn't have to reinstall everything.

Driver or hardware issue? and what shall i do?

I'm going to try and reinstall the chipset software.

Which one am i supposed to install.

check in the bios the usb ports are set as full speed and not hispeed

i think it's that naming scheme (it tells you in the bios which is usb2)

but then why Randomly in Windows, the system would make a "Device Connect" and "Device Disconnect" Sound???

i've reinstalled the chipset software. Can't remember which one i installed last time though.

also changed usb bios setting from hispeed to fullspeed.

Just Please don't happen again :-(
