Range Rover Evoque

I'm sure that will make all the difference...

I agree with you, just thought it was worth pointing out a marginal improvement when looking at this thing on paper. :D The problem with the inline 6 is that it wasn;t used for long enough by the other OEM's so this now would be its sole use and the decision was made when oil was well above $100 a barrel - since then they changed it from LR to RR yet the engines haven't kept up with the change.

Have to say I wasn't expecting quite the scale of the negative comments across many sites :(

I'm sure it'll be a great success with the usual owner demographic of drug dealers and perma-tanned wives on the school run.

That's not the market though. Those people will just go for a full fat Range Rover.

This car is a bit like the Freelander. It will be bought by people that couldn't afford to buy a Disco or Rangie.

I really don't like the look of it at all, but at least it manages to look different to the rest of the range. They all look the same now, moreso since they've given the Disco the RR-style headlights.

I guess that's my point, in that by all reports it's disco money for something smaller than a freelander. I'd prefer it with a land rover badge for 10k less :)

I wouldn't underestimate the "Baby Range Rover, isn't it cute / easier to park at Waitrose" factor . Or it could become the Boxster of the RR line like you say...(only not as good in it's own right as the Porsche, perhaps)

First car my wife has EVER shown any enthusiasm for, cant believe it.

That's going to be one sale i can see it.

get used to it

Once the EU starts fining them per car sold per gram of Co2 that the average of their range is above the limit, they will all be doing it.
Baby Rolls Royce anyone?

Also, just seen the 40th anniversary unveiling video of it ,it's a lot shorter (height) than I thought.

Looks like quite an interesting design, not sure if I'll like until I see it in the flesh. I'm sure it will be quite popular.

So this will be parked next to X6's on the road, with no dirt on it, with road tyres on?

Looks quite funky, but in the end it boils down to a rather pointless car.

Embargo now lifted and official pictures released including interior.

You sound a bit jealous there mate, it has to be said. I dont really understand that mentality, anyone that has got 40k to buy a run about a fool does not make.

The money for these cars needs getting before spending.
