Range Rover sport

The sport is based on the Discovery though? I was always under the impression it was really just a bit smaller, but nothing really that much different.

Anyway, I'm looking for a similar sort of vehicle, but completely discounted the Sport for the same reason as Rilot mentioned. Full fat Range Rover or might as well get an X5...

However, with regards to the TDV6 or TDV8, the TDV6 (Is that still the single turbo, 2.7 you're looking at?) is meant to be tragic. One of my mates recently had to use the sale of goods act to walk away from his RRS after the engine repair bill started to hit £12k+. He previously had a FFRR V8 and he loved that, saying he should have just went for another one (TDV8). I'm only looking at Petrols to be honest. I can't be doing with the hassle of the diesel unreliability in the Range Rovers. Although I suspect the supercharged version could come with it's own inherent risks.

My Dad's just bought a '10 RRS TDV8 but I think that's not quite the one you're looking for. I had a good poke around and a drive in it yesterday and was suitably impressed.

That's what scares me.. Repair bills. Trying to find some honest answers! I can afford to buy one outright £20 - £22k

But don't want a metal shed sat on driveway!

Actually it's exactly the bodystyle he's after, they produced it from 2005-2014 with some minor tweaking and facelifts but its fundamentally the same car.

At my budget £20 - £22k at the moment, don't think that would come into my options?

All of the Range Rover models are expensive to run and repair. None are particularly reliable either.

4.2 Supercharged Full Fat. It was a fantastic car to be honest. Nothing major went wrong with mine apart from needing arb bushes and a suspension airbag but even for those minor things it cost me over £500 in parts plus my time to fit them.

Very nice, I understand these cars are expensive to run just hoped they don fall apart every five mins.

I just dont get the point of these cars. Unless I lived in the highlands or went offroad at any time.

The commanding driving position and comfort are like nothing else on the road. I really loved mine and I wish I still had it. I'd have another in a heartbeat if I could convince the mrs to try automatic again.

I'd reposition those words...

"the Misses is looking forward to driving the automatic again"

Look down on poor people.

One thing I love about driving an attic is the fact you look down on Range Rover drivers and even they know they won't win this "I'm bigger than you" tussle for a change! :D

My former boss had a few Sport and full fat Ranges (at the same time, he was somewhat wealthy) he used his sport ones far more than the others, said he much preferred the drive of the Sport fwiw.
