Rapid Saloons for 10k

I really dont think the S8 has stood the test of time very well at all. Awesome as it may be, it simply looks like a very dated, bland, huge old Audi. I think this is becuase looks wise it's just a huge 1994 shape A4.

New S8, however, looks absolutely totally awesome.

To "Joe Public" who has no clue about cars, yes, I agree. They wont have a clue what an S8 is, will just look like a big Audi to them.

But to someone who is a bit of a petrolhead, like us lot.....LOL!!!..... its still a car to be impressed with when you see one on the road if you know what you are looking at.

I've pulled up behind S8's before and turned to the missus and said, "Ohhhh.......look at the Audi S8 there!!!".

Missus: Eh?. What?. Where?. Eh?.

So you have kinda proved your point, Foxy I suppose!!!.

I'd still grab one with a mileage like that at that price though.

Always liked the S8, a fella who had a business near my old house had a blue one, it had the reg plate "S8". Probably worth a few bob on its own, the plate!!.

Plus, its been in one of the coolest movies ever, Ronin!!!!. :p

Mondeo ST220 is a cracking motor. I say this a lot, probably because I have one myself, but don't discount the MG ZS 180. With MG going bust you get them at a great price and they are pretty nippy. I got a 20 month old model with 9k on the clock for £7.2k. Not bad for an £18k car.

2.5 v6, 0-60 in 7.3s, though most of its power is mid-range. Quicker than the Octavia VRS and looks better imo.

My mate just got one of these rovers and they are excellent value. For the record, last month i got me a 2003 Seat toledo v5 170 hp with 15,000 miles one owner etc etc. for £5200. got it remapped and a couple of extra bits for £300. Now I run 192hp and it owns my mates rover. The build quality is better and is better equipped. Imo I really think you will struggle to find better value for money.. edit: Forgot to mention group 12 insurance

18K car... I paid 13k for mine brand new and it was a POS...

Drank oil faster than fuel and had 2 new engines in 2 years (13k miles)..

Both knocked out the mains and big ends...

Yes it drives and handles nice, but dated interior, poor reliability, and god knows what future...

It is hard to believe but places like http://www.smc-cars.com for example still have these "unbeatable" offers for unregistered bancruptsy stock - like £12999 for "new" MG ZS 180. Talking about deluded...

To the op - If you liked the octy vRS why not look at them.

The original model will come in well under budget and you shoudl get an excellent car for your money.

The 1.8T 180bhp engine is very nice indeed and judging by people who have had them tuned very tunable as well. (would imagine 220bhp shouldn't be very hard to get to if you really want more grunt).

this is what im considering

the boy racer inside me wants an impreza, with a big jap exhaust to make a tarmac terrorist backdrop

the more sensible person inside me knows the Octy will be cheaper to insure, cheaper to run, and cheaper to buy. With all the money i save, i can tune the Octy to be at least as powerfull as the WRX impreza.
