If you hadn't noticed, we are talking about a shared account here owned by one person. The person who didn't own it could use it for illegal downloading while using a proxy, which would result in the arrest of the account holder. Which is why the op doesn't want to share an account.

An account holder could conceivably use a fraudulently obtained prepaid card to fund her Paypal account, but that would be straying into serious offence territory.

Why use potentally illegal methods to fill up a paypal account? There are plenty of legal ways you can fund it anonymously, just use a fake proxy when logging in and slightly worryingly they would have no way whatsoever of catching you..

Having said that I would never pay for a rapidshare account so it doesn't matter, the cats are a little annoying but they're not that bad and I don't use it much anyway.
 
Just disable your internet connection and then re-enable it, thus creating a different IP address, so you can then download straight away again.

yer, thats why piracy is on the way out. :confused:

If people were being done by the police for rapidshare violations etc it would be all over the tech sites. As it is the RIAA can barely win cases with people sharing music in their faces.

£5 a mont for rapidshare account = the internet on your HDD.
 
Not really. My point was on public torrent sites you dont know what the file is at all, could pretty much be anything, whereas a warez forum + rapidshare is different.
