Raptor RMA - Non UK

Hello,

I have a Raptor 74gb HDD which has passed away but Its not a UK Drive as far as WD's Warranty Site shows.

Its showing as being an australian drive, if I were to send it all the way over there would they send it back to the UK?

Anyone ever done this before?

Did you buy it from Oz? If you bought it from a UK retailer you could ask them about it and get them to sort you out a new one

Was Purchased Second Hand so i have no idea....

I would email WD UK and ask them and see if they will let you send it to them instead, never know they might be really nice about it. If not I am sure they would point you in the right direction and explain everything you need to know etc.

Generally, you are not covered by the warranty so you'd have to make a special request to WD.

Give me the serial number of the drive and I'll see if I can pull some strings at WD.

The drive was originally purchased in Australia so they cannot change this. You will have to either scrap the drive or ship it back to Aus. One long shot is if the controller board is faulty, then you might be able to find another drive and then replace it.
