Raspberry Pi 5 Announced!

Get a decent SD card, this is the main cause of instability. The new official raspberry pi ones are awesome. Or SanDisk endurance. I use the stock lite 64bit image from the pi website.

No need for desktop for this use
Would you say the RPi SD cards are better than an NVME, or at least more than solid and fast enough compared to a standard microSD card? I've got a Pi 5 running Pi-Hole and I had loads of problems with the installation running on a microSD card so I upgraded to a Pi 5 and used the NVME base. Had no problems since. I've been considering getting a second Pi 5 running Pi-Hole, for reduncancy, and I'm not sure whether to go NVME base again or see if the RPi SD cards are good enough.

I'm running my Pi5 in a Pironman5 case, overkill given all it does is PiHole, but it looks cool, under my desk, on a shelf, where you cant see it....

No SD card is better than an NVME.
Of course. I was trying to ask if the RPi microSD cards were more reliable and faster, compared to standard microSD cards, to make them worth using instead of an NVME considering the price difference between microSD and NVME.

I wouldn't count on it, they are made by the same OEM that make the Amazon Basics microSD cards

Nice one, thanks for the link. I'll stick with NVMEs then. A bit pricy but very happy with the performance even if its just Pi-Hole I'm running.
