Would you say the RPi SD cards are better than an NVME, or at least more than solid and fast enough compared to a standard microSD card? I've got a Pi 5 running Pi-Hole and I had loads of problems with the installation running on a microSD card so I upgraded to a Pi 5 and used the NVME base. Had no problems since. I've been considering getting a second Pi 5 running Pi-Hole, for reduncancy, and I'm not sure whether to go NVME base again or see if the RPi SD cards are good enough.Get a decent SD card, this is the main cause of instability. The new official raspberry pi ones are awesome. Or SanDisk endurance. I use the stock lite 64bit image from the pi website.
