Rate and review your iPhone protection

Nothing currently.

Had an iPod touch since it was launched and despite the scratches on the back, the screen is extremely scratch resistant, without a single mark on it.

The 3G seems even more robust, as it obviously has the plastic casing on the rear, rather than metal.

I'd quite like a simple leather sleeve case to slip it into in my pocket, but it seems they are out of stock at the moment and they don't have them in the Apple Store.

i have a griffin hard cover, protects it very well and you can remove the bottom to put it in it's stand.... if you bothered to buy one. i didn't!

Jam jacket with invisible sheild for the front. Might have been better using quick drying yatch varnish for the back (as daft as it sounds) to do away with the jam jacket.

I only have a screen protector on mine and it's done a superb job, highly recommended.

No need for any other protection as its in my pocket and it's one of those good iPhones with an Aluminium back ;) not a scratch in site on the back.

:p

Of course it's worked perfectly, the screen won't ever scratch in your pocket without a cover on anyway :)

Get an ncase for your touch. It keeps the nice slim fit and protects the back well.

Zagg Invisible Shield Here - Back & Front

As above the back took ages to apply but eventually went on ok.

Protection 3.5/5 - as would not absorb any force if dropped but prevents scratches
Style 4.5/5 - Corners look a bit odd with the back on.

However i have had it on for 3 months and it has started to go a grimey yellow colour so i may get rid of it at some point. Will email Zagg first though

Well I don't have my iPhone just yet, but I got an invisible shield for my ipod and I like it's protections. I'm not sure I'll like it when I have to use touch screen though, but it certainly protects the product.

My invisible shield has just arrived for my 2G iPhone. Got a couple of questions to ask before I apply my one on. Did every apply there shield in the bathroom? Would doing it in anywhere else be a bad idea(due to dust and all that)? Also on the instruction it says leave the phone off for 24 hours before using it,is that a must?

Unless you have access to a hermetically sealed lab then the bathroom (with the shower on, until the windows/mirrors are steamed up) is your best bet for application, you will most likely get dust on the screen if you don't do this.

I would leave it off for 24 hours, just to let it dry out. Do you really want to risk it?

They tell you to leave it off just incase the water gets through the buttons and buggers up the odd component inside, hence the 24hrs to dry the part/s out. I just leave mine on lol

Doing it in a steamy bathroom () isn't a bad idea as any dust in the air attaches itself to condensation droplets and falls to the floor. I just do it in my bedroom :p

Anyone use the griffin elan form case? Been looking at it on the apple site and i think it sounds like the best option - leather cover including screen protector. Reviews sound good. Any one recommend this?

Foof pod

Protection: 3/5 (Protects from scratches, small knocks, pretty decent cushion really)
Cost: 5/5 (£12/£13 delivered from Australia!)

I got a black one, trying to be inconspicuous here!

How do foof pods hold up in your pocket? I'm currently using an iPod sock, one bought from the apple store, and if I try to drag it out of my pocket, I can sometimes struggle.

Also, how does it deal with the grease? The ipod sock is ridged and therefore after my iphone has been in the sock for a while, line's of grease appear on the phone.

Installed my invisibleshield last night. Didn't bother attempting the back though as it looks impossible to so just did the front. Now the front has a few airbubbles, will these go after a few days or will it be there until i take the protector off and reapply?

I'm using this, as a case its pretty good, doesnt add too much bulk to the phone and fits snugly. I take it off every couple of days to clear out any fluff thats got into it (I keep it in my pocket most of the time). Its not going to save your phone if you drop it from a great height but will keep it scratch free. Its also not *great* looking, but then not many cases add to the look of an iphone anyway.

The screen protector is utter, utter pants however. I could not get it to sit well on the phone surface, it appeared to stick to the screen in places but not in others. In the end I bought an InvisibleShield and just used the front part, works a treat.

The InvisibleShield changes the surface feel of the screen, its not as smooth as the iphone screen is naked, but it is still very usable and you get used to it quite quickly.

OK, so it's an iPod Touch not an iPhone, but I just didn't remove the plastic film that was on my Touch when I got it so effectively I have a factory fitted screen protector that is fitted perfectly and my screen has never ever even had a finger on it.

When I get an iPhone I'll do the same. Why remove a perfectly good screen protector and try and fit something else?

Do ther Zagg Invisible Shield fit just like the standard screen protectors, I dont see why its problem fitting it? Best place for them the bay?
