Rate and review your iPhone protection

Do you get a grease build up on any of the invisible shields? Do they add any extra grip to the iPhone for using it one-handed? What about removing them? Can you tell that an iPhone has had an invisible sheild applied to it when you have removed it? Does it leave the iPhone sticky?

I'm tempted to go with the FullBodyFilm, for the anti-glare front with Bodyguardz back, and then a foofpod aswell.

While I was getting mine, some old dude came into the store (bumper pack on his belt, socks with sandals etc) and asked one of the staff for help on how to get back to the menu.

Turned out he had put his protective jacket on upside down so when he was pressing the area for the menu he was actually pressing the speaker.

In short- dont bother with any or you'll be as cool as this dude. :p

Did you laugh? :D

Fitted my InvisibleShield full body to my iPhone last night - what a huge pain in the ass. The tabs on the corners wouldn't stay down so I came up with the ingenuous idea of putting the phone in the plastic tray thing that comes in the iPhone box - that seemed to do the trick as this morning the tabs were stuck down.

The only bad point is that there are imperfections under the film either from fingerprints or "stuff", as well as about 3 or 4 tiny air bubbles - I fitted it in the bathroom with the shower on steaming up the room so there's no dust, but I'm not happy with it. Will probably buy another and redo it.

Reading the instructions it says that "microbubbles and imperfections will work their way out of the film within 2-3 days" but I really can't see how this would be possible, looking at it this morning the phone/film is bone dry, I can't see how several more hours is going to make any difference to it at all.

Anyone got any experiences they can share with the ZAGG invisibleshield?

Invisiable Shield you can get direct from the US company that makes them. Just as cheap as fleabay, and with added certainty of kosher goods.

I still haven't fitted mine... still just carry my 3G in my pocket.

Apart from the little alu apple on the back, which has a patina of micro scratches... it still looks as new.

I'm not sure how but it does seem to work their way out. My iphone had a few bubbles and it disappeared after a few days.

OK, so it's an iPod Touch not an iPhone, but I just didn't remove the plastic film that was on my Touch when I got it so effectively I have a factory fitted screen protector that is fitted perfectly and my screen has never ever even had a finger on it.

When I get an iPhone I'll do the same. Why remove a perfectly good screen protector and try and fit something else?

The problem with the iphone is that the film covers up the speaker for your ears, you need to take it off so you can hear your calls, or make VERY careful slit into the film.

I saw that when I got my iPhone, plus the plastic cover isn't anywhere near as well fitted as the iPod touch.

So, my iPhone now has a Zagg invisible shield on the front only and I've used a Switcheasy Capsule Rebel for general protection.

It's superb, with that and the Zagg I now have no qualms about just chucking my phone into a pocket or dropping it on a desk or anything like that as it's completely protected. And it looks good!

Well. I have two invisible shield things, one for my iPod touch and one for my iPhone. A glass fell off my windowsill, smashed all over the place and gashed a hole in both of the above. There was actually a hole through the protective plastic.

Took them off and the screens were fine.

I don't think I need any protection now, seeing as it can withstand so much punishment on its own.

You know you can get those replaced FoC? They have a lifetime warranty against damage.

I'd rather the zagg got damaged than the screen. It only takes one scratch and you're a grumpy person.

Used to have an incase slider for my original iphone, have just ordered a incase slider in matt black for my 3g iphone. Waiting for it to arrive.

True... I threw them away so I don't think they will replace them :)

I'm using an invisible shield for the front and back, and a Tech21 iBand for the edges.

Shield keeps it safe from scratches, iBand keeps it safe should I drop it.

My shield is fitted okay, so you can't really tell its on, but as with a lot of phones with it fitted, the edges aren't great as the adhesive gathers fluff and such. Thankfully the iBand covers the edges of the shield so it's a pretty flawless, neat cover.

The shield means it's scratch-proof, the band means it's got pretty good (altho not perfect) protection against dropping. Does it ruin the aesthetic? Yea a little. But I'm gonna be using this phone for another 12 months at least, and I know that at some point over the next year it'll get dropped.

I'd guess a lot of people are like me, and once your pretty gadget has been scratched or chipped, it's just not as cool any more. So while it might not look quite as nice with the band and shield on, I know that if I take it all off, my iphone, which is a few months old, used every day, dropped, left in my pocket with keys and coins, will look as good as the day I brought it.
