8/10
i always find it strange when people have a 3800+ when you could get a 3700+ which should out perform it?
no name on the ram to really go by, and the soundcard holds it back a little... still good spec though
we've got two in the house (not including the laptop)
mine:
AMD A64 4000+ @ 2.6GHz (cooled by a Artic Freezer 64 Pro)
2GB G.Skill ZX DDR400
Point Of View Geforce 7800GT @ 490/1180mhz (soon to be cooled by a Zalman VF900)
DFI LanParty SLi-D
74GB Raptor (windows + main games)
120GB Seagate Barracuda (storage/music/less played games)
Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
Hiper Type-R 580w PSU (to be replaced with a Seasonic 600w S12 PSU)
NEC DVD RW
all in an Antec Sonata I case
other bits and bobs:
Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers, Ultra-X keyboard, 510 mouse, Rumblepad II, Quickcam Communicate
Philips 150c and an LG TFTLCD MNT monitors
girlfriends:
P4 Prescott 3.2GHz @ 3.7GHz (s478)
Point Of View 6600GT @ stock
1GB Geil Value DDR400
Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G motherboard
20GB Maxtor IDE drive

james.miller said:it does, or at least its extremely close. the 3700+ has twice the L2 cache remember.
Phil99 said:I'd go with 9.8/10, a lot of the ratings here seem to be a bit off IMO, but I wouldn't get hung up about it.
it does mate, the added L2 cache pushes it just that little bit beyond the extra 200mhz that the 3800+ as over the 3700+, or it at least comes very close... anywayNoni said:A 3700+ does not outperform a 3800+ at stock. I chose the 3800+ as I am not a fan of overclocking so its a nice powerful CPU at a reasonable price!
Thanks for the rating mate!
I give yours a 5.5/10, wow 20GB HD thats bad!

good sound in them... only reason i got rid of mine is because i managed to drop a toy army tank down one of the holes and it borked up the sound (couldn't get it out either).

was just thinking the same thing to be honest... people with "uber" machines will think most relatively high end specs aren't very good... whilst people with low end machines will think anything is goodturbotoaster said:people of 1800xp with see a [email protected] and think OMG where someone with a 3.5ghz phase cooled dual core will think, 'its ok'
