Raw Meats...

I'm just thinking of the number of ancient cultures and religions that wouldn't eat pork because it was 'unclean'. No smoke without fire, I suppose.

If I trusted the supplier of the meat I'd quite happily have raw beef. Unpasteurised diary products including milk would be fine too. They would have to be fresh though. Wouldn't trust them after a few days in the fridge.

Protein denaturation probably gets rid of a bunch of stuff that's good for us. Plenty of vegetables you can't eat raw either.

I saw an american wife swap once and the whole family ate raw meat, even some meat that was left for months and then eaten, it looked disgusting. When the rules changed the new wife gave them cooked meat and they were all ill, the dad was crying and moaning saying she was hurting his children etc. Odd people eating raw meat imo.

you can have raw anything given the conditions that the animal was bred in a virally 'controlled' environment.... im sure some places in japan server chicken etc as sushi (propperly raw, not cooked the slightest bit)

I saw that too, was very strange.

Makes me glad I'm a vegetarian.
