Ray mears

Great bloke, shame he hasn't worked out how to make tweezers out of sticks to get rid of that shocking monobrow though....

Just a head up, his new series starts tonight at 19:00 on BBC2

DOCUMENTARY: Ray Mears Goes Walkabout

Desert. Episode 1.
Ray Mears is in desert survival mode as he follows in the footsteps of an unsung hero of Australian exploration to find out how John McDouall Stuart became the first European to succeed in crossing this continent from South to North and back again. Anyone here a fan of Survivorman with Les Stroud? He's a bit more hardcore like Bear Grylls (though he genuinely survives alone) but he has the appreciation for ancient techniques that Ray Mears has.

I definitely recommend picking up season 1 on Amazon for anyone who's into this sort of stuff.

If you missed it tonight its on Iplayer now :)

My favorite is the one where he builds a birch bark canoe, that's a fantastic episode.

Great to see Ray back again, though i wish they could have more episode in this season rather than a handful, i guess they must be running out of environments for Ray to visit now ?
