No, Not really.
I have a Black Widow keyboard and bought a death adder. However, the version of Synaps that was required for the death adder was 3 and would not work with the version installed for my Black Widow, 2. In order to macro etc I would have to have 2 versions of Synaps running. I did not bother installing in the end and never had any issues.
