Razer entering the world of console gaming

The extra button above the trigger is a fail in my opinion. It decreases the size of the trigger and you have to move your finger further to reach it.

And the engraved design on the right hand side is going to unbalance the feel of the controller.

have you held one ????? just wondering as your talking like its fact that its going to feel unbalanced

Well this is good news as I live by razer mice... Will 100% be picking one up, only if they do a wireless as i am a casual gamer and sit too far away for cable :(

It stands to reason. I like a controller to feel symmetrical in my hands. If there's a pattern on one side, it will not.
How on earth do you manage to cope with the two sticks being in different positions on a 360 pad as it is?

Ps3 pad is much better than the xbox one.

Ive had three razer mice and all are still working after years of constant use. I think this could be a good move for them. I would definately consider a ps3 version.

The PS3 is nowhere near as ergonomic or comfortable as the 360 pad, what are you talking about? You will find you're going to be in a very small minority with that rather strange opinion of yours.

Sorry, I'm with him. Much prefer the PS3 pad myself.

I could never get along with the playstation controllers, they are so small in my hands I ended up getting cramp or feeling as though I was holding onto nothing... Farmer hands = fail :(

I've never really enjoyed the Playstation controller since the PSX days due to me living on Sega consoles the years before that and even now when I play my PS3 sometimes I can't get used to the analogue sticks + the triggers.

I think Sony should have changed the controller design for the PS3 (actually maybe not if their other option was that boomerang) to be more ergonomic rather than mainly appealing to previous Playstation owners.

... rather than mainly appealing to previous Playstation owners.

What, the XXX millions of PS1, and PS 2 owners:D Don't get me wrong here, I'm not blind to peoples preference, but I've been more more than happy with the PS controller since collecting my first analogue pad with Gran Turismo on release day 12 years ago.

Assuming it's any good, if they bought out the exact same model for the PS3 I'd definitely purchase a slim. Actual triggers and off-set sticks at last!

Looks nice, wonder why the analogue sticks are that high? Seems a little odd.

I am also with you. The 360 controller seems to reactivate my RSI that I usually get from writing. Also my finger feels weird after using the trigger for a while. But most of all, I don't really like the thumbsticks. They tend to give me blisters or are just not as comfortable to use as the sixaxis sticks.

Guys don't tale this off topic with a controller battle.

Was wandering off topic, but it seemed to be staying the right side of sensible:) Sorry.

Back on topic, I'd give it a go, I've always loved Razer mice, and would be more than willing to give this a chance if it comes to PS3, wire or no wire.

The inbuilt rapid fire makes this illegal at basically all events. :(

MLG community are gaging for it to be legal due to the "slow turn" MS official wired pads - basically the quality of the wired pads are so bad that some pros have to spend $1000's a year just to have one that doesnt end up suffering from slow turning in game.

So no pros will be able to use them unless they release a non rapid fire version

from an MLG mod

The rules are in place for a reason. Wireless equipment only operates on so many frequencies, and with the amount of people that play at events, you'd have a lot of interference between the devices, and potentially it'd interfere with the devices MLG uses to broadcast the event. And I'd hope you can see why rapid fire controllers wouldn't be allowed :/. I know that the controller has to be turned to that option in order to have the rapid fire, but it'd be way too difficult to monitor at events. I got a 2nd opinion from lenox who agrees, so as it stands, currently the controller is ineligible for MLG events.

The MSRP of this is supposed to be around £40 when released. While that sounds steep as an official 360 pad can be had for as low as £18 in some places online, considering this is a Razer product (and a sexy one at that :p) I'm definitely getting one for my PC. Glad it's in black too; MS only do white wired ones for PC so you have to buy a wireless reciever and a black pad seperately and even then the reciever is white!
