RC Drift thread!

It is quite sensitive, i can limit how much range the steering can give (How much it can turn) but when going sideways you really need to wack on quite a lot of opposite lock to balance things out, its hard to explain and i'm still learning the technique :)

Other thing is i've got some drift tyres on my car, so it slides even on limited throttle :)

Awesome video guys :D

Started off a bit boring, but got much better in the 2nd half.

Loving the wheel coming off the big drag car thing :D Made me LOL!

Just watching that, i'm wondering. Is the control on the steering (technical term there) quite sensitive?

If you could adjust the sensitivity on the steering, surely it'd be easier to control. i.e a bit adjustment on the controller = small adjustment on the car itself.
You can adjust the sensitivity on some controllers but then you would lose the amount of lock you have and your not able to be as quick with the steering.

Decided that to get the best from the Fusion I'm going to need to run it in a lot of space so now off to order an Evo :D :D :D

You want exponential then on your transmitter. It makes the centre bit less sensitive but does still give you the full lock when you need it. Think of the wheel lock in the same was an exponential graph is, takes a little getting use to at first but when you are use to it its brilliant. I use it on my RC Planes, someone would be much much harder without it.

I've just got myself a KO Propo EX1 Mars R, should be with me in the next few days, should have chance to play around with all that sort of stuff, standard hpi controller sucks!

Sorry about the bad download speed think quite a few ppl have grabbed the video now.

Just as a note you can click the link and play directly in media player, might work better than waiting for the full thing to download.

Cheers for the comments guys, we had a right laugh :)

Ok this will make me sound stupid but... drift tyres on a 4WD, front and back right, not just backs?

All ordered... but I managed to forget to add the fuel to the order  £275 lighter and thats without the fuel. Will be well worth it though :D

Yea front and back, proper hpi ones designed for the job, about 32 for 4 :(
Cool sounds like what I ordered :p "HPI Super Drift Tyre (A Type) On Chrome bling bling wheels"

Modelsport have sorted my lack of fuel. It seems that there customer service is still top notch as it was when I last used them a couple of years ago

Modelsport are great, top notch service and next day delivery on my orders :)

Sounds like the wheels i got, just use it in a wide clear area at first cause otherwise your car will meet a hard object side on.

This thread was meant to be last night goddamnit! :p

Was a fun day's R/C, and yes, I will DEFINATELY be bringing the RS4 nitro to the RR day.

Cheers for the tip :D

Its a good job Modelsport are so good over the phone as the local model shops suck big style with one exception... which I think may have closed down and dont seem to keep a great deal of stock :(

The HPI drift tyres aren't all that slippery, I tape mine. It's ok with no tape, but they're really made for nitro cars with more grunt so I tape mine up.

Edit: I haven't read much on it lately though - people were complaining about the older HPI drift tyres so possibly they've released a slippier version since mine?

NOOOOOO.

Thought it was odd that there was no confirmation email when I got home so I checked my order history to make sure it had gone through "ORDER CANCELLED" :(

Maybe it was because of the confusion I caused with trying to add the fuel to the order

Pretty gutted as I was hoping to have it tomorrow to start running in. Plus the Imprezza is now out of stock, although the Tourezza is back in which will do instead.

Nah it will be fine, when i ordered my RS4 i went for the scooby shell but later in the day i got a call saying it was out of stock so they changed it for another shell, my order online said cancelled but i got it next day, think they have to cancel it to amend the order ;)

I hope thats the case. I suppose it makes sense really.

They need to get the Sprinter Trueno (AE86?) made up in 200mm though. That would be the ultimate drift body :D

EDIT- Mohinder that exhaust looks the nuts :D
