Best thing is even if you dont complete the track, you can still test it 
I built a wooden coaster with a massive drop, ran out of money to complete it, so I just made a little 'ski jump' at the end of the drop facing into the park. Very cool to see the cars fly off the tracks in a fireball and explode into other rides/buildings.
