I suspect it's between Ampere and Ada in performance.

It's going to be a repeat of the RX6900XT/RX6950XT and RTX3090/RTX3090TI.

Except,I suspect AMD will probably have the advantage in costs because the AD102 die is twice the area,so the yields probably are much worse.

Is that a bad thing if prices are right ? ;)

Thanks to @Techen

And no one will by them, just pay the extra for the better product.

The problem is Nvidia has made you think £1650 is cheap. The reality is that Nvidia has priced a RTX4070 for £1300,means AMD can still be overpriced and still be competitively priced.

Blame Nvidia for the Turing 2 pricing.

The RX5700XT was meant to be an RX690 but since Nvidia overpriced Turing they rebranded it one tier higher and it still looked OK value for money.

So you'd buy a slower last gen card just because AMD isn't "giving it away"?

Depends on price and performance. But that RT performance was lower than I expected and i expected it to be low. Also depends on what Nvidia does, they could slash the 3000 series to be competative with AMDs 7000 series
