RDNA 3 rumours Q3/4 2022

They also said on presentation that RDNA3 came out better than they planned it to be, which was a pleasant surprise for them. Sure, we can call that marketing BS and whatnot, but it might also mean they did indeed aim at 4080 performance bracket and by accident almost it came out better in raster than that. RT is another matter, but once again, independent benchmarks will reveal. Best we can do now is sit and wait, then buy whatever fits us best.
They just said it's intended to target 4080 officially. If it came out accidentally on par with 4090, they would have stated it's targeting 4090. That would actually work out better for their sales rather than stating it competes with 4080.

RT at Ultra levels at 60+ fps 4K won't be a mainstream thing for at least a couple of generations which means rasterisation will still be king. Neither console are capable of 4K 60fps Ultra or anything closeike that which means rasterisation will be king. Which game developers will spend the time and money on high levels of RT
The thing is, I've been on this forum for a long time and it's interesting that the most vocal GPU enthusiasts don't seem to post much in the pc gaming forum. They are extreme benchmark whores and probably don't actually complete half of the stuff they load up.
What kind of PC enthusiast ever completed a game? Half Life 2, COD4 Modern Warfare 2007 are the only ones of a library of 80+ on steam I completed. I simply don't have the time as I'm too busy researching other people's hardware. Too much choice can be a bad thing even with an old humble rig like mine.

Not on pair. Better than 4080 in raster, worse than 4090. Not aimed at 4090 and RT isn't even close to 4090, hence they can't say it competes with 4090 as it would be marketing suicide. You seem to be thinking in extremes, this or that - reality is in grey shades, not extremes like that.

You got to love these random troll accounts that are like 5 minutes old.
You’re not that bright are you?
You think I’ll create an account just to s on AMD and defend Nvidia? :p for what?
I was here since 2020.at launch on 3000 series and Zen 3.but lost my account.

Back to the subject,I don’t understand you AMD fanboys.you were expecting 2x performance of 6900XT for lower price?

That’s not going to happen.
The 7900XTX just isn’t competing with 4090 that’s why AMD didn’t even bother showing comparisons.that’s why they priced it $1000 and no more.

It’s going to be maybe 10% faster than 4080,$200 cheaper, worse RT and likely all kinds of driver compatibility issues for the first 1-2 years.

they basically gave Nvidia a white check to do whatever they want.

That is max fps not average fps. The charts everyone is using is comparing average fps andbthe extrapolation is being done based on max fps. AMD said it's meant to target 4080. If it's within the ballpark of a 4090 why not say it's targeting 4090? The 6900XT was targeting 3090 and it was within that ballpark as well
If AMD want to target the 4080 and be in the ballpark of the 4090 I'm not going to complain.

Unless they were going by RT performance or they expect the 4080 to be within 10-20% of the 4090

What does it cost? How does it perform?

That's all that matters.

Aside obvious trolling, whom are you even responding to? Who's the "AMD fanboy" where mostly it's been the opposite camp trying to persuade people to go green here? The rest of your post isn't even based on reality, considering AMD officially said they compete against 4080, not 4090, hence no comparison to 4090 and 4080 isn't even out yet, so what numbers would they post?

I am locking this thread now as it is 50% childish pathetic bickering and the only alternative is to hand out suspensions and strike's which we do not want to do. Please feel free to open a new thread now we know more about RDNA 3 and the first iterations of cards. Going forward anyone trolling or posting rubbish will be met with zerio tollerence, we are tired of giving warnings and in future it will go straigh to suspension as a lot of people are not posting to the level expected within this section of the forum. For the last time refresh yourselves with the forum and section rules and guidelines.
