RDNA 3 rumours Q3/4 2022

Yup. This is AMD Graphics buried. They'll be lucky to even tie the 4080. Nvidia laughing all the way to the bank.

I don't think they increased the price from previous generation let me know if I'm mistaken and yet increasing performance ?

Considering the price of the 7900 cards I'm looking with interest at the 7800xt which should be priced well , because I ain't paying £1269 for the 4080 16gb

A very disappointing reveal for me. The rumours of 2X ray tracing performance over RDNA2 were what got my hopes up, and that fell short.

I found it disturbing that AMD focused on DP 2.1 and the ability to attain stupid 300-600 FPS in 'competitive games' like Fortnite.

Suddenly the 4K/120 limitation of the 4090 looks like no problem at all, as it's a card that can actually fill that bracket with ray traced goodness.

That's because you suckers keep buying their overpriced products!
I've nothing but >20 years of Radeon. The truth is they just aren't on Nvidia's level and it was the pivot to RTX that really put them on their back. I've mixed feelings on RDNA 2 vs Ampere but couldn't in good conscience get an 8 GB 3070 over a 16 GB RX 6800 so got the latter instead, but looking at RDNA 3 vs Lovelace, it's 4090 or bust. Either that or just skip and hope 2024 is a closer battle. The RT performance for AMD is simply pathetic & it's shocking that they actually ended up regressing!

Unfortunately not many can afford or need that kind of card

More interested in the cards for 1440p performance

But but but..... RT shadows in halo!

Look forward to seeing you both with 4090's soon then!

Here’s a thought, maybe just maybe AMD could set their stall out before Nvidia for once.

The pricing is bananas I agree, but why do AMD always let Nvidia release to market first? If they’ve got a competitive product launch it first and force Nvidia to rethink their range/pricing.
Well, if both vendors where ready at the same time then the thing AMD could do was wait for Nvidia to do their huge launch event and announce prices and line up with the usual X weeks until launch, and then a week before they launch theirs, AMD do their reveal with lots of proper reviews etc. And undercut Nvidia announced prices.

That would be a truly disruptive launch and leave Nvidia scrambling to adjust or un-launch certain cards.

A little underwhelmed on raster (was hoping for at least 4090 raster). RT looks to be even more disappointing.

But

BUT...

They did crush the pricing.

Nvidia will *have* to respond at the 4080 tier I think because these cards should slot above or alongside for substantially cheaper.

4090 and 4090Ti look to be untouchable though and that means prices will continue to be sky high at that tier.

Shouldn't hurt them too much, the 4080 is really a 4070, which is really a 4060.

$2300-2500 4090ti, here we come :D:cry:

How have they regressed I might be wrong but are they charging more from previous generation yet still have increased performance? Correct me if I'm wrong

They already unlaunched one card!

Don't forget AMD don't sell to UK because of brexit and we will have to wait for AIB boards.

As for pricing:
1000 USD =£895
+Vat 20% = £1075
+AIB £200 = £1275

So probably around the same price as the 4080 but with much lower wattage

As for performance Nvidia will probably win with dlss

People who bought 3090s in the last couple of weeks are probably crying now

These AMD fanboys can’t accept the reality, generation after generation of Radeon this has been repeated :
AMD is simply behind Nvidia.
there is a generational gap.

I miss the days where ATi were actually trading blows with Nvidia... my first top-end GPU was the X800XT... all those years ago & I had a couple of them... since the 8800Ultra came out though, it's been Nvidia-only for me.

I wish AMD never bought ATi.

Gamers Nexus are pointing out that AMD's 8k isn't 16:9 but 32:9 i.e. 7680x2160 and half of proper 8k.

7680x2880... but don't let maths get in the way...

But I think when they were talking 8k, they meant 8k... it's only the 8k Ultrawide announcement that will have confused those peoples.

Not sure what you're smoking... the 4080 will be much lower wattage than 7900XTX.

The 4080 is 2/3 the size of the 4090... so power draw will be down (roughly) from 400W for the 4090 to 270W for the 4080...

Fsr 3.0 is supposedly gonna be 2x FPS over fsr 2.0

Just out of interest why did you think Nvidia unlaunched the 12gb 4080 ? Seem to have the market to themselves
