At present I have a partitioned Sammy F1 1tb drive....
On partition C:/ I have windows7 & partition D:/ I have XP Home....
I have just bought a 2nd HDD a SG 160gig....My intentions are to put the new drive in re-format that drive and install a new copy of Win7 on that drive...
I would then like to reformat my original sammy drive to remove the other OS's, and perhap to merge the 2 partitions together......

What would be the best way to go about doing this? Would I be best off plugging in the new drive and install win7 and then try to reformat the Sammy drive.... or disconnect the sammy drive and then set up win7 on the new SG drive, and then reformat the old sammy?

Any help or advice on this would be great appreciated....

disconnect the sammy drive and then set up win7 on the new SG drive, and then reformat the old sammy?
I would do this, especially if you have data you want to keep on the old drive
after a successful install of W7 turn off pc reattach old hdd let W7 find the old drive and copy any files folders to new drive
Then you can delete/format the old drive
