Is it safe to re-heat and eat chicken tikka masala + rice that's only 6 hours old?!
I've put it in microwave for about a minute til it was warm, and then ate it.

When will the food poisoning come? :D

It's rice you're not meant to reheat if it hasn't been stored in the fridge, otherwise you'll be fine. Maybe.

iirc to kill most bacteria, you need at least 70 degrees for 2 minutes, though certain strains will survive this, most wont.

As for the rice, well the spores of bacillus cereus are hardy blighters, however if the rice was cooled properly (within one hour of cooking) then you'd be fine assuming you reheated it correctly. However, allowing it to stand at room temperature for any length of time, increases the spore growth which can produce toxins that lead towards food poisoning.

I doubt that you will have caused yourself any trouble though, but in future, nuke it a little more..

I've reheated Rice loads. You'll be fine. Put a sprinkle of water on it though, stops it from going hard.

You'll be fine but just incase make sure the bog is well stocked and put a couple of good books / magazines in there ;)

From NHS,

Yes. You can get food poisoning from eating reheated rice. However, it's not the reheating that causes the problem but the way the rice has been stored before it was reheated.
How does reheated rice cause food poisoning?

Uncooked rice can contain spores of Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive.
If the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores can grow into bacteria. These bacteria will multiply and may produce toxins (poisons) that cause vomiting or diarrhoea.
The longer cooked rice is left at room temperature, the more likely it is that the bacteria or toxins could make the rice unsafe to eat.
Tips on serving rice safely

  • Ideally, serve rice as soon as it has been cooked.
  • If that isn't possible, cool the rice as quickly as possible (ideally within one hour).
  • Keep rice in the fridge for no more than one day until reheating.
  • When you reheat any rice, always check that the dish is steaming hot all the way through.
  • Do not reheat rice more than once.
