Re-housing a freebie system into a smaller case

Draining point?

bit scuppered really due to the drop of the rad below the pump res. I'd probably say in this case just leave enough slack in the pipes to remove the res and tip it out below lowest point on the rad.

tbh tho it does look like it's going to be one of those turn the pc on it's head jobs to drain as I'd rather keep it neat and difficult to drain than leave slack pipe in

not even enough space to flip that rad vertically and have a nice low drain point at the bottom due to the hdd cage

I'd have the flow of liquid going the other way round, but that's just my preference.

I did give this serious consideration but after some research it seems that my graphics card at full pelt will only add between 0.5 and 1c to the water temp as it passes by. This should not be enough to concern the processor as I won’t be pushing it to its limits. With this in mind I decided to just going for the easiest / neatest route. Thanks for your input though.

Here it is with the tubing in place. I've filled it with water, shook all the bubbles out and put the pump on full and so far no leaks. :D

It posts and boots into windows okay but so far I’ve not attempted any overclocks. Letting it settle first.

re the draining of the loop i have the smaller version of that res i just put a compression fitting on with a huge hose attached and just use the slack in the tubes to train the res. But i do have clear pipes and red fluid so i can see where the coolant is a bit better.

Sorry I've gone quiet but I'm afraid I've been having too much fun with my new system!
(installed too many new games!!)

Really pleased with how the build has turned out (I know it's nothing special but it's exactly what I wanted). I've now overclocked the processor to 4.0ghz and temps fluctuate between 28 and 46 whilst the fans are at less than half speed (i.e. nice and quiet). On SilverBench it scored P23692 which I think is pretty good for an old CPU.

Regarding the old TJ07 case the previous owner has asked me to auction it off and split the proceeds although I plan to give him the whole lot as it's only fair considering his generosity. So it's on a certain well known auction site if you're interested in it at a 99p start price. Would love it if one of you guys got it for a bargain price! ;)

Looks really nice, was quite apprehensive at first I mean a TJ07 is a TJ07 and moving to a smaller case was quite a bizarre thing to do but it's turned out really nice

:O your friend donated to you a i7-980X?!

Can your friend donate some other things to us all please :D
