Re-map switching between 3-2 and 3-1 exhaust?

I'm looking at getting a stubby exhaust for my Speed to switch to every so often, like this: http://www.spengineering.co.uk/prod...-slung-3-1-carbon-stubby-moto-gp-exhaust.html. They sound & look nice. :D

They recommend a re-map on their site, which is fine, but if I'm going to be switching between exhausts then that's going to be expensive and a pain.

Could I switch to the 3-1 map and run that on the 3-2 Arrows as well? Or would that be no good?

Thanks

If it says you need a remap then I wouldn't chance it,doesn't a power commander store more than one Map? If it does then you can switch between them

Actually you would just need a power commander with the new map on,when you put original exhaust on just disconnect the power commander

Nice. Shame they're £300+! Good idea though, if Triumph are going to charge me £20 for every map and I swap a good few times over the life of the bike, then it'll be worth it.

Yup, will do. Can you program them yourself? Could I get the 3-1 map online somewhere and put it in myself, or do you need to take it to the dealer initially for the map you want?

Nahhh, only looks a bit weird in the pic cos he hasn't got a tail tidy. It'll looking amazing with my tail tidy. I love a bike with a rear wheel that looks like it sticks out like that.
I also love the under seat look though like I have,so would definitely switch between the 2

You can download them online. I personally bought a kit to flash my ECU which gives you a lot more options in terms of tweaking but it is a track bike. You can import PCV maps but you can do so much more with it, I don't know if they do it for your bike but it might be worth a look.

One thing on my R6 that you will not see on a PC is the amount of throttle to RPM you get, out of the factory you only ever get 87% throttle max (at peak RPM) even though you're asking for 100%. With the software you can change it to a linear curve which makes it feel so much better. I have a full Akra system on mine and I recently put the ECU to stock, rode it then put my map in and rode it and the difference is night and day - with the stock map it feels hesitant at certain points in the rev range where as with the map I have it just picks up and flies. You can also tweak things such as engine braking, fuel (can adjust both primary and secondary injectors), rev limit, disable various sensors (O2, EXUP, AIS etc), when the fans come on, has built in quickshifter support ... list goes on!

Of course to get optimal results you'd need to stick it on a dyno and test it while making changes and I know there are a few Dynojet tuners around with dyno's to do it for you. Depends what you are looking for really, a PCV would probably suit your needs but if like me you enjoy tinkering you might like to do it yourself :). That and the fact it cost me the same as a new PCV made it an easy choice.

No idea tbh,I'm yet to use One,think you can download them online onto the device

It looks pap because the arse is so high in the air to accommodate the dual pipes.

Stick with the duals, but get the stock map put back on for extra power. The "arrow" map is just for emissions and kills performance.

Not sure they put the Arrow map on, as far as I remember they only re-map for the 3-1 Arrows, not the 3-2, but I will check that thanks, I didn't realise the Arrow map was for emissions!

Why not just buy a cable and use the (free) TuneEcu software to load a map?

Could do. Can I also find out what map I'm currently on using the TuneECU software? And would I be able to get the 'official' stock map for my Speed on there? Mapping and stuff is completely new to me, never even looked into it.

Thanks.

[Edit]
What's the cable called? Can't find much at the moment.

Ah nice, if only they weren't so expensive! I don't think it'd be worth me getting really, especially if TuneECU will do the job.

Do I just need any old OBD2 cable for TuneECU? Some of them are listed for specific cars or bikes, not sure if the actual cable is specific or if I can just get anything?

Can pick up an old laptop from work for probably nothing, so might work out quite well.

Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with this fuss.

Just stick with one or the other, you will in the long run anyway, so just decide which look you want to go for now and save yourself some agro.

Because you are not going to **** around changing exhausts more than a couple of times or maps.
