Re-open the separate Linux/Mac forum debate

As is proving to be a popular consensus, can people stick a basic one-liner in this thread if they agree/disagree on the subject of forking this forum in two (Linux & Open Source and a Mac one)? It seems things are coming to a head and the Don(s) need to be aware of this? I know this was discussed a few months ago but it pretty much fizzled out without a decent resolution.

I am for a split, the whole Apple/Mac thing is now plenty big enough to need at least one separate forum

It's a joke how decisions like this are taken so seriously by those 'in charge', common sense should prevail, always.

Split it.

If common sense were on tap, this split would have happened a long time ago.

Seeing as pretty much all of the frequent users of this forum have voiced their opinions in this thread, giving some damned good reasons why there should be a split, maybe it will help give some backing to the proposition.

A mail to some relevant mods is in order methinks..

If it split the linux section would be dead and we end up with another optical storage and writing.

Rubbish, the only reason why there are so few linux posts in this forum is because we are tired of flicking through the Mac posts (no offense Mac guys). This forum used to be plenty thriving before it got Mac'd and I'm sure plenty of linux users (both old and new) would frequent it. Did you not read the number of post in both this thread and the other thread? Surely it proves there are plenty of people interested? I have more than a couple of decent ideas for some stickys if this switches to a Linux forum, much more than "Which distro for a noob?"

Yewen, is that the official word on it?
