Reading Area

as has been said before Wokingham is nice, most areas of Bracknell are to be avoided, can't really comment too much on Reading. Mate lived in a flat in Winnerish for about 4 weeks untill he found an infestation of cockroaches in the shared kitchen. Theres a quiet villages outside Wokingham called Finchampstead which is qiuet nice but is a right PITA if you wanna go shopping, or into town at all from that matter cos it's a bit out of town.

I personally live in Yateley and work in Bracknell, so if you wanted to come over the county border and into Hampshire then Yateley, Eversley and Fleet are reasonably good.

Also so some of the places in Surrey can be quite nice as well.

I've lived in Woodley/Earley/Lower Earley my entire life and think that personally Lower Earley is a great place to live (and I don't get the comparisons with Woodley).

Wokingham is continually rated as one of the best places to live in the country though.

That said there are places within 5 minutes drive of each other in any place that vastly differ in terms of appeal.

Moved down here 9 years ago with work.

Avoid Cemetery Junction - religious meltingpot & noisy.
Avoid Oxford Rd - IDR to Tesco - drugs and prossies. Some sidestreets are ok (tilehurst rd etc)
Avoid Kennet Island - Pap newbuild next to a stinky sewage works..not to mention an architectural wasteland.
Avoid Woodley\Earley.

Look at Caversham and A4 (Bath Road).

Sonning is nice too.

wokinghams quite nice, bracknell is a **** hole. Warfield which is next to bracknell is nice and also have a look at Binfield which is a village next to binfield where I live. Very nice and no scum whatsoever.

The river area is pretty good, plus Bray and Holyport are nice villages just outside.

As I said there are nice places by the river is one Bray is a pretty village but full of stuck up arrogant people (except Rolf Harris and his wife they're lovely people) I live in Holyport which is a nice place to live but all the village pubs bar "The White Heart"(My local) are more resteraunts than pubs, however the town centre is **** there are only two pubs worth going to (Noctors & The Hobgoblin) and the clubs are all pretty **** there are only two worth going to and thats only if you're really wasted and are in the mood for staying out and drinking more after the pubs have closed (Phatz Bar & Smokey Joes)

Well I'm off to see District 9 tonight at vue on me loner as the misses has gone to wales for the weekend so might pop into town for a couple of pints before and after if anyone is up for it?

Yep there is also a nice Thai restaurant by the river there.

Although I must admit the nightclub I went to recently was a bit iffy, Smokey Joes and the Greyhound pub as well. :D

Smokey Joes is class, been there a few times, but always duck and dive out around 1am as it gets far too packed, or just get my mate to use his VIP thingy to get me in there. And even then it gets a little packed :(

The Thai Orchid is good but I prefer the Chef Peking which is literally a couple of doors down from the orchid

The Grayhound is where you go when you have **** all money because it's cheap but I can't stand being in there for more than 20 mins as the music is so damn loud you cant hear anyone even if they're a centimeter in front of you, Smokies well for lack of a better word is a dive but by the time you get there you're already wasted so it doesn't matter.

Romans and Richard Worth I would recommend. Have dealt with both of them over the years and theyve been great. I agree with Prospects. Absolutely terrible.

You'd recommend Romans?!! I hear nothing bad bad things from everyone I speak to. For personal experience I think they are terrible. That's both buying and letting, in Reading and Wokingham.

There was a Britney Spears tribute act on the night we went, which was amusing. :D
