ready made

that's a lot of fans in there but I guess you cant have to many. is the cpu cooler manufacturer refurbished unit going to give me any problems in the future.

The fans are to replace the stock ones that come with the H100 and the case so that they colour match the rest of the build nicely, the H100 although a refurbishment shouldn't really give you any problems to be honest but there is always the risk that you could get it and it leaks so I would just connect it to a molex for a hour or two outside of the case and see if it does, if it doesn't I would say your not going to have any problems at all.

The H100 should be as good as a new one.

Ive had two CLC so far and neither have had issues with leaking etc.

Idleman I sent your basket to overclockers to see how much a custom build would be and they came back with this
Please note though that we may well have to change either the RAM or cooler as the tall heat-spreaders on this RAM will probably interfere with the large CPU cooler.?

Well, if they bothered to get out the tape measure, they`ll see that the fan clears the ram, instead of just speculating.

Thanks for the reply Idleman. I was reading a thread somewhere else and someone said the i5 is better value than the i7 for a single card, any thoughts on this

The Intel Core i5 does present better value over the i7 in gaming (Unless you loading up all the PCI-e lanes). The i5 is the same as the i7 but it just doesn't use Hyper Threading like the i7 giving you 8 logical cores.

I would agree but the 7990 is a dual card. If you were to go for a 7970/770 for example, then I would have specced an i5.

Its not actually red in side nor is the window just in that picture to make the window stand out I think OcUK have put some LED lighting into, but I have done a red and black one for you :)

hey Ethermaster meant to thank you for helping me out last week with the above build, only thing I'm not sure yet is the i5 or i7. I see the his hd 7990 is on sale this week at what seems a good price any difference between the two.

No problem :) IMO there is little to none difference between the 2 cards as both are reference and @ stock clocks, the only thing that will change is the warranty and RMA process. The actual GPU at the heart of the 7990 is the same on both cards as is the cooler and the PCB and all made and designed by AMD themselves. I personally with the deals this week would pick up an i5 but that is upto you... if you wanted to jump up to an i7 you will get slightly better results in games and none in order IMO.

I dont think its been said yet but if your 'gearing up' for bf4 then your gonna want windows 8 for the new direct x 11.1 im sure i read somwere that win7 wont be compatable with it?
